At low temperature bacteria remain inactive because their activity ceases due to freezing action and they cannot metabolise to survive.as for example we can see dat in poles there are very less amount of bacteria
bacteria are generally active at moderate and high temperatures. just as we decrease our activity at low temperatures, it can be concluded that they do so too
we know that each and every organism requires a particular climatic conditions to survive,in the same way bacteria also require a moderate temperature optimum to regulate their daily activities.
as temp decrease means , cold , so the efficency to perform their activity decrease .
for eg when we keep food items on refrigirators it remains some what fresh becoz it is less affected by external organisms.
The ans is At low temperature, because at low temperature all the enzymes required for activity of bacteria gets inactive,as we all know that enzymes requires a particular optimum temperature for working.
bcos at high temperature bacteria is killed n at low temperature they r nt killed bt they doing activity decreases.thats y vegetables n others things r kept in fridge. undrstood lakshya varshney.
