find radius of the second circle it is of the the general form and therefore youll get radius 3 which is between 2 and 8

for the circles to intersect at 2 distinct points.....the distance between their centers should be less than the sum of their radii but greater than the difference of the radii....so here we find that the distance between centres is 5 and the radius of second circle is 3...which means 5 should be between r-3 and r+3 i.e r+3>5 and r-3<5 ...=> 2<r<8
