It took 2s for the body to reach 8 m/s.It is also said that the acceleration was uniform.So it is obv that that the acceleration must have been 4m/s^2.Or by equation,V=U+aT,U=0,so a=V/T =8/2=4m/s^2.

acceleration means change in velocity divided by the time required for the change ... here change in velocity is 8 m/s - 0 m/s { given initially at rest } the time taken for the change is 2 sec ... so acceleration is 8 m/s / 2 sec = 4 m/s2
