if "r" increases area of cross section increases...so there should be a change in the length right? if r is doubled area increase twice so lenghth should decrease 4 times for resistance to remain same.....?

here R1/R2 = Rac/Rcb; when radius increases both Rac and Rcb decrease and Rac/Rcb remains same. so x does not change

you r right that if cross section increases then the length of wire will also change but RESISTANCE/METER WILL REMAIN SAME. SO length of part AC would remain same.... I HOPE U R SATISFIED WITH THIS ANSWER.......
